Objectives of UNDP Project

The aim of this project is to assist the line ministries and 18 pilot cities to improve air quality through development of capacities in clean energy action planning and policy formulation in order to promote the adoption of clean energy sources (CESs) and clean energy technologies (CETs) in main energy supply and consumption sectors. The specific objectives include increasing capacity for the local governments to develop a Clean Energy Action Plan for each pilot city and or implementation and evaluation of a number of key demonstration projects. The project will also prepare guidelines and supporting policies in clean energy planning to be disseminated to other cities throughout China.
