Objectives of Clean Energy Action

Clean Energy Action is aimed to reduce air pollution in China's urban environment through clean energy planning to improve the energy supply mix in cities and to introduce clean energy technologies (CETs). By the end of the CEA programme, the target is to achieve National Air Quality Level II standard (ie average annual emission of 0.20 mg/m3 TSPs, 0.06 mg/m3 SO2, and 0.10 mg/m3 PM10) in all the pilot cities.

There will be a general increased awareness of clean energy actions and their potential contribution to economic growth, social development and air pollution abatement.
